Two Months Young
My Dear Little Ellie,
You are two months old today. I am learning all sorts of new things about you as the days go by. You make even more noises than you did before; less gerbil and more vowel like. And when you get excited you wave your arms and legs like a bug on it's back. It is super funny. You LOVE music more than anything and your daddy made you a lullaby playlist on his ipod that you listen to constantly. You will sit in your bouncy seat now (for a max of 5 minutes but we have learned to eat our meals quickly).
You weigh almost 12 lbs and have a big beer looking belly. Sometimes you will drink 5 oz bottles, other times, not. Sometimes you will sleep for 5 hrs stretches, but most of the time, not. You still dislike your crib, bassinet, and now even your pack n play sleeper at times. You just want to be held and despise being set down even for a moment. You just are not having that. I am thinking you want me to have big arm muscles but my back is not so receptive.
You have also discovered your hands. You put them in your mouth a lot, can hold skinny objects with them, and have learned to hit things with them. Like me. Or your daddy.
Or the sheep on your mobile.
Or the duck on your bouncy seat.
I had to have my hair thinned out and cut because you pull it out in clumps with those itty bitty hands. You also head butt us. So far, you have a temperament like your Uncle Dane. Chill when you get enough sleep but quick to go from 0-60 in ten seconds when you are mad (you get mad A LOT). I like to think it is just that you are frustrated cause your head is so heavy and you cannot tell us what your deal is. You know what you want and you turn purple when you do not get it. You are not patient. That quality must be from your daddy. Not going to lie, I am slightly afraid for your terrible two's.
You love your mommy but still do not like your daddy much yet. You will though and it's o.k. because sometimes I do not like him either. Like when he puts he a pillow over his head and ignores us. But you have found a few activities you like to do with him. Like play on i-tunes together. You are really stingy with your smiles but have given me a few. Mostly when you first wake up in the morning. You like to touch your furry brother Gavin and he checks on you when you are sleeping, often waking you up with his cold nose.
Our life has changed so much and everything is about this tiny person with big fat cheeks. You are so darn cute it makes me feel like a marshmallow. Love you little lady.
